At The Project Futurus, we believe in the power of innovative social initiatives and community engagement to support those in need and foster greater social integration.
Recently, a group of volunteers from FWD Insurance visited The Futurus Studio to gain insights into the dietary challenges faced by individuals with swallowing difficulties and transformed regular dim sum into delicious shumai softmeal. Afterwards, they delivered freshly made softmeal bento boxes to the elderly residents at the Kiangsu Chekiang and Shanghai Residents (Hong Kong) Association Kwai Tsing Hostel.
During our service, volunteers experienced the limitations of traditional pureed diets and the importance of enhancing elders’ dining experience through texture modified softmeal.
We hope that through our program, members of the community can gain a better understanding of the needs of our elderly and contribute towards creating a more caring community. Through compassionate community participation, we are able to overcome language barriers and provide elders with the care they need.
