
Captain Softmeal
Established in 2018, Captain Softmeal is committed to promoting dignity dining and helping elders and patients who suffer from swallowing difficulties (also known as dysphagia) to improve their quality of life through texture modified diet.
Today, Captain Softmeal has delivered over 70,000 softmeals through its catering service providing alternative softmeal diet to hospitals, elderly homes, elderly centers and rehabilitation facilities. We have also organized over 700 Softmeal making workshops and training sessions for caregivers, healthcare professionals, food service suppliers and chefs.

Collaborating with restaurants to promote an inclusive dining culture for those with chewing and swallowing difficulties
According to a study we ran in Aug 2024, over 70% of caregivers expressed interests in taking their family out for dinner, yet most restaurants today are not able to meet the needs of individuals suffering from with chewing and swallowing difficulties with the lack of appropriate meal options and lack of understanding on elders' dietary needs.
We are honoured to be selected as a DBS Foundation 2024 Grantee! This grant fuels our mission to develop and promote inclusive dining for those with chewing and swallowing difficulties. The grant will be used to procure production equipment, provide training, consultation, and marketing support to restaurant partners.
